Your Family's Praise Belongs Here

This clan has a praise. It is not on this page yet, and that is our doing, not anything about your family or the praise itself. If the people at home still say it, you can put the true one here.

Why It Is Not Here Yet

The rendering that was read: Anonymous blog administrator, Tinanatelo (community blog, 116 posts of June 2018), 2018, Blogger — http://tinanatelo.blogspot.com/2018/06/ (post Tinanatelo MDLULI)

A praise belongs to the families who recite it, not to whoever wrote it down. A siSwati-speaking family that still holds this one holds the better version of it, and can put that version on this page.

Also Spelled

Mdluli is also written Ndluli.

Spellings differ between families, between records and between countries. Wozekhaya keeps the name as each source wrote it rather than settling on one form.

Written down by families and by the people who recorded them.

About This Record

What Was Written Down

Kuper's table, as reported, makes the Mdluli true Swazi and relates them to the Nkonyane and Lukhele. Simelane Simelane said the Mdluli arrived with the Ngwane and were already in the country when the Simelane came. Mshengu Mdluli was sent by Mswati II to Mashobeni to barricade the country against Zulu attack. LaBotsibeni (Gwamile) Mdluli, wife of Mbandzeni, mother of Bhunu and queen regent from 1899 to 1921, was of this clan. Thwala 2013 lists the Mdluli among the powerful southern chiefdoms over which Mbandzeni placed Dlamini princes. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.
