About This Record

What Was Written Down

Kuper's table, as reported, classes them as late-comers. Their nineteenth-century chiefs recorded from Bryant are Dlakadla, Zondiswe, Lubelo (killed about 1860 by Mswati II's iNyatsi regiment after a war with the Nyawo) and Mbikiza (died 1918), succeeded by Zombizwe. Thwala 2013 places the name in both his Emafikamuva list and Bonner's list of pre-existing chiefdoms attacked, so both readings are recorded. Recorded from the sources named on this entry; the wording here is Sibaya's own.
